Stevenson School is a PK-12 co-educational, college-preparatory, boarding and day school with enrollment of 770 students on two campuses in beautiful Central Coast California. The Upper Division campus (Grades 9-12) is located in Pebble Beach, and the nearby Carmel-by-the-Sea campus is home to Stevenson’s lower and middle divisions (Grades PK-8). Stevenson School seeks a Major Gifts and Campaign Manager, with immediate start. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the major gifts and campaign manager (MGCM) will hold primary responsibility for the strategic and tactical management of all components of the School’s major gifts program and capital campaign. The ideal candidate will be a team player  who is a strategic and creative thinker who thrives in dynamic environments and exhibits an enthusiasm to take on additional responsibility to achieve results. Thorough understanding of both the major gift and capital campaign fundraising cycle is a must. Management experience is a plus. This is a year-round, full-time position with some evening and weekend event attendance required. A hybrid schedule may be possible.

 Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with the School president and director of advancement to create and implement a campaign strategic plan, providing meaningful opportunities for input from campaign volunteer leadership 
  • Manage major gifts team and prospect research contractor, making portfolio assignments, managing donor pipeline, and facilitating major gifts meetings 
  • Work with the director of operations to design and deliver campaign management systems and workflows, including staff and volunteer portals, campaign reporting, timeline, and donor pipeline
  • Develop agendas and presentations for meetings with campaign staff and volunteers
  • Provide solicitation preparation support to staff and volunteers, including the development of customized briefing and solicitation materials
  • Maintain an annotated table of gifts, a list of funded recognition opportunities, and available programmatic funding opportunities 
  • Coordinate with the director of donor relations on campaign stewardship events, recognition, and pledge reminder system
  • Manage campaign-related vendors, including campaign and communications consultants, printing and event companies, and other outside contractors
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
  • Prior capital campaign experience
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, and time management
  • Demonstrated ability to organize time and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience implementing Slate or other CRM
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and the integrity of all aspects of information disseminated within or external to the school community
  • Commitment to being part of a diverse, equitable and inclusive school community

The anticipated salary range for the position is $80,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to competitive salary, Stevenson is pleased to provide a comprehensive benefits package including Anthem Blue Cross health insurance plans and generous retirement plan contributions. Housing support is offered for eligible employees who work on site. On campus lunch is provided daily for all employees when school is in session.
